<p>TOKYO - JAPANESE share prices were 0.23 per cent higher in quiet Tuesday morning trade as investors awaited the outcome of policy meetings of the Japanese and US central banks, analysts said.</p><p>The benchmark Nikkei-225 index rose 24.54 points, or 0.23 per cent, to 10,776.52 by the break. The broader Topix index of all first section shares rose 3.42 points, or 0.36 per cent, to 942.33.</p>

<p>SANDAKAN - A SECONDARY school Malaysian student was allegedly gang-raped after she was dragged into a car while waiting at a bus stop.</p> <p>Sandakan deputy police chief Supt Fadzil Mohd Ali said that a Proton Saga with six men inside stopped at the bus stop at 9pm on Saturday, and forced the 19 year-old student into their car.</p>

<p> BANGKOK - ANTI-GOVERNMENT protesters started donating their own blood on Tuesday as part of a plan to splatter the Thai government headquarters in a symbolic sacrifice to press their demands for new elections. <p>Hundreds of red-shirted demonstrators formed long lines to have their blood drawn by nurses, a day after their leaders vowed to collect 1 million cubic centimetres of blood - the equivalent of 1,000 standard soft drink bottles - to spill at Government House by Tuesday evening. </p>

<p>KUALA LUMPUR - A MALAYSIAN man, who had erectile problem, forced his wife have sex with over 50 foreigners while he directed and filmed them.</p> <p>The 61-year-old woman said her husband would recruit the men from nearby rubber estates and supervise her on the various moves and positions while he recorded it on video. He would also assault her if she refused to consent to the acts.</p>

<p>A YOUTH who has been placed on probation before for molestation was sentenced to reformative training on Tuesday for a similar offence.</p> <p>The 19-year-old, diagnosed to be suffering from paedophilia, had earlier admitted to holding the hand and touching the chest and private parts of a nine-year-old girl at a religious organisation on Jan 18 last year.</p>

<p>NEW YORK - THE administrator for failed Wall Street giant Lehman Brothers filed plans on Monday to end the largest bankruptcy in US history, opening the way for the creation of a new company.</p><p>'The proposed plan represents a fair economic resolution for all Lehman creditors and will accelerate recoveries to creditors,' said Bryan Marsal, chief executive and chief restructuring officer of Lehman Brothers Holdings, in a statement.</p>
