Synopsis: Under V. Sundram Moorthy, the Lions had no results as well as style, and after two years of underachievement as national coach, the Football Association of Singapore has announced that he would step down "by mutual consent" despite his contract having 11 more months to run. The timing of the decision - with less than seven months to go until the Nov 8 to Dec 15 Suzuki Cup, which Singapore have won four times - raised eyebrows.
