Life Picks Ep 65: Enjoy a musical March and April and Malaysian herbal bak kut teh

13:25 mins

Synopsis: Every Thursday, The Straits Times highlights the best films, concerts, restaurants and arts events you can catch in Singapore over the coming weeks.

This week, Money FM's Claressa Monteiro chats with ST music correspondent Eddino Abdul Hadi who recommends why we should catch American a cappella stars Pentatonix, who will be back in Singapore to perform at The Star Theatre on Feb 11, 2020.

March is a good month for music acts, and you can catch American pop-punk stalwarts Green Day and 80s pop giants A-Ha. Green Day will return to Singapore to perform at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on March 8, 2020. Norwegian pop trio A-ha, best known for enduring hits such as Take On Me (1984), will perform in Singapore for the first time at Singapore Turf Club on March 21, 2020.

In April, British singer Rita Ora and American rapper A$AP Rocky will be performing at a brand new homegrown music festival. Billed as the region’s first multi-genre music festival, Hydeout will be held over two weekends (April 10, 11, 17 and 18, 2020) at The Meadow, Gardens By The Bay. The initial lineup also includes American rapper Gucci Mane, France’s DJ Snake, Dutch DJs Sam Feldt and San Holo, and Singapore’s own Myrne.

ST food critic Wong Ah Yoke recommends a new bak kut teh outlet at Lorong Liput in Holland Village.

If you're a fan of Malaysian herbal bak kut teh, you no longer have to cross the Causeway to enjoy it. Kota Zheng Zong Bak Kut Teh, which started in Kota Tinggi in 1980 and now has two branches in Johor Baru, opened here about two months ago.
