Cavenagh Bridge, Anderson Bridge, Elgin Bridge, Read Bridge and Ord Bridge. Singaporeans pass by these five conserved bridges lining the Singapore River every day without so much as a second glance. Erected between 1869 and 1929, these structures are brimming with untold stories about their construction and how such technology was transferred from Britain to Singapore. Unearthed by the National Heritage Board's new Impact Assessment and Mitigation division, these stories will be shared at a talk this Saturday, Oct 26th.
