While it will take one to two more years for the Housing Board to clear the backlog of delayed flats, there are early signs that the property market is slowing down, said National Development Minister Desmond Lee in an exclusive interview with The Straits Times' Associate News Editor Royston Sim and Housing Correspondent Michelle Ng. He says that the two rounds of cooling measures implemented in the last year are still working their way through the market. He also gave assurances that while there are challenges ahead in terms of finite fiscal and land resources, the Government is committed to meet Singaporean’s housing aspirations and will continue to keep public housing affordable to all.
